What I Do: Psychotherapy
Does your life history create obstacles for you when you try to move toward your goals? Do you have internal scripts or messages that hold you back? Is it challenging to create and maintain new healthier behaviors?

Benefits of therapy:
Initial session (1-2 hours) - During this session, we get to know one another and complete an in-depth history of your clinical symptoms, previous therapy, and personal and family dynamics. This session helps you clarify your goals for our work together, and begins to identify the areas where you need to make changes.
Regular therapy sessions (usually 1 hour) - During these in-person sessions, we work on the issues you identified as needing change. We discuss all aspects of your life and challenge any faulty beliefs you may have. In addition, we consider the impact of your family of origin and life experiences. For those who have experienced a trauma, we focus on symptom control and restoring function in everyday life.
